Women & Infants' Nutrition Services staff can help you learn to make healthy food choices for yourself and your family. We work closely with your physician or other health providers to develop a personalized nutrition care plan for you.
Our professional staff is made up of fully licensed and registered dietitians and nutritionists with special expertise in all aspects of women's nutrition, including the needs of pregnant women, diabetes and cancer.
We provide nutrition consultation for patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

No Show Policy
We have a policy for missed appointments at all Women & Infants' physician practices. If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please give us at least 24 hours notice.
The WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Program is a nationwide education program offering nutrition and breastfeeding counseling, as well as healthy food supplementation for women, infants and children. It is funded through the United States Department of Agriculture and administered through the Rhode Island State Department of Health and local agencies throughout Rhode Island.

All Women & Infants' patients are screened for nutritional risk as part of their initial assessment, both in the outpatient and inpatient areas. For patients who are at nutritional risk, an appropriate plan of care will be determined. Patients may also receive nutrition assistance upon personal request.
The Food and Nutrition Services staff welcomes you and looks forward to serving you during your hospital stay. It is our primary goal to provide you with healthy food choices that we hope will exceed your expectations.
Every day our patients receive a restaurant-style menu, which offers a wide variety of delicious foods from appetizers to daily specials. During your stay a Food & Nutrition Services representative will visit with you to provide direction with diet and ensure patient/patient family satisfaction. Eating well to promote health and your recovery is important to us.
Looking for a unique gift for the new parents? Want to spend that last evening alone with your significant other before returning home to the family? Why not order a Stork Club Dinner, for a formal dining experience served in the privacy of your patient room. This gourmet menu offers selections from fine appetizers to desserts, complete a wine complimentary wine glass. Lunch or dinner, available for a nominal fee.
Another great gift alternative for all patients is our Gourmet Meal Program. Our elegant menu includes crisp Caesar salad, filet mignon and New York style cheese cake, just to mention a few of the tempting selections.
Family, friends and visitors are invited to dine with our patients in their rooms. Selection from our restaurant style menu is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Available for a nominal fee.
When patients are spending their birthday with us, we offer a token of recognition along with cake, at lunch or dinner service.

Breakfast 6:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.
Lunch 11:00 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. (weekdays) 11:15 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. (weekends/holidays)
Break 1:15 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Dinner 4:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Vending machines are located on the main level of the hospital near the triage area, in the 5th Floor Family Room, and in the ACU Family Room.
