Genetics and Prevention Program

Patients referred to the Cancer Genetics and Prevention Program are given a consultation with a cancer genetic counselor who offers a comprehensive analysis of their cancer risk based on genetics, familial and lifestyle factors. Each person receives information and recommendations for a personal approach to cancer prevention, which may include recommendations for:

  • Cancer genetic testing
  • Diagnostic screenings
  • Chemo-preventive strategies
  • Lifestyle modifications

No Show Policy
We have a policy for missed appointments at all Women & Infants Hospital's physician practices. If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please give us at least 24 hours notice.

Scheduling

If you have already been in contact with the Cancer Genetics and Prevention Program and were asked to complete the online Family History Questionnaire (FHQ), please use the link below. Once you start the questionnaire, you will be able to save it and complete it at a later date if needed.

Comprehensive cancer risk assessment and prevention counseling is available at locations throughout Rhode Island.
