Women & Infants Hospital Announces $500,000 Matching Challenge for Brown University Labor and Delivery Center Campaign

(Providence, RI) – Women & Infants Hospital is thrilled to announce a generous $500,000 matching challenge in support of our ongoing campaign to construct a new state-of-the-art labor and delivery center. This matching challenge, made possible by an anonymous donor, presents a unique opportunity for our community to double the impact of their contributions. All donations made by September 30, 2024, will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $500,000.

“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our donors and the support from our community,” said Shannon R. Sullivan, COO and president, Women & Infants Hospital. “This matching challenge is a testament to the commitment we all share in providing exceptional care for families and their babies. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to double their impact and help us achieve our vision.

”This initiative is a crucial part of our broader $35 million campaign to enhance our facilities and provide the best possible care for our patients. To date, we have successfully raised over $33 million towards our goal. The additional funds from this matching challenge will help close the gap and reach this target.

Once completed, the new Brown University Labor and Delivery Center at Women & Infants Hospital will enhance birthing options, enlarge delivery rooms, and provide an equitable environment in which families can deliver their babies. This three-story addition includes twenty (20) labor and delivery rooms, as well as nurses’ stations, a staff lounge, a locker room, and management offices. This project reflects our dedication to improving maternal and infant health outcomes and offering an exceptional birthing experience.

We invite all members of the community to join us in this exciting endeavor by donating today. Together, we can make a significant difference and ensure that Women & Infants Hospital remains at the forefront of maternal and infant care.
