Women & Infants Hospital is one of the nation’s leading specialty hospitals for women and newborns, serving as a primary teaching affiliate of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Fellows have unique access to a large population of women in a specialized hospital catering to women’s health, including the opportunity to receive in-depth, hands-on training in order to care for female patients in all stages of life, across a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders. Women & Infants also specializes in pelvic floor disorders and gynecological malignancy. The delivery of optimal care for women requires up-to-date, evidence-based knowledge of the pathophysiology of both health and disease states in women. Many differences exist that require specific knowledge of gender-based biology and pathophysiology of digestive diseases in women.
